At CSGS, our Sixth Form Study Programme provides a broad, balanced and ambitious education, enabling students to achieve academic excellence, whilst developing the knowledge, skills and character needed for future success. Through a personalised programme of study, students are challenged to think critically and maintain high aspirations, embracing intellectual curiosity and independence.
Alongside their academic studies, students benefit from a wide range of enriching experiences which enhance their learning, broaden their perspectives and support personal development. These experiences help prepare students for higher education, apprenticeships, employment and life in the modern world. Through a combination of academic challenge, enrichment opportunities and wider personal development, our students are empowered to thrive both academically and personally. Our students leave Sixth Form as well-rounded young adults, able to lead with confidence, continuing to make a positive contribution to society.
Students typically study three A Levels from a broad range of subjects. To further extend their learning, students can choose one of the following pathways:

Personal development is at the heart of the CSGS Sixth Form experience. Our Enrichment programme is designed to help students develop self-awareness, recognise their strengths and build the confidence, resilience and ambition required for lifelong success.
By engaging in a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom, students broaden their perspectives, discover new interests and talents and develop valuable transferable skills. By engaging in meaningful activities, students gain a deeper understanding of their potential, strengthening their character and personal growth.
During the first term of Year 12, students participate in our ‘Study Skills Enhancement’ programme, which is designed to aid transition and strengthen the independent learning skills required for success at advanced level and beyond. Delivered by a range of staff from across the school, the programme focuses on key academic competencies, such as effective research methods, extended writing skills, critical thinking and understanding plagiarism.
This programme equips students with the skills and confidence to become reflective, self-regulated learners and provides an excellent foundation for future higher-level study.

Year 12 students benefit from two timetabled hours each week dedicated to Super Curricular Enrichment. These sessions provide further opportunities to broaden their horizons beyond academic study, develop new skills, interests and experiences and work collaboratively with their peers from a variety of disciplines.
