In-Year Admissions Years 7-9

Selection tests for children already at Secondary School

A ‘casual’ or 'in-year' admission is when a student is admitted to the school, outside of the normal secondary transfer period (when a student enters the school from Year 6 into Year 7).

For a child to be considered for a place at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School, they must have been deemed selective in the Bexley Selection Tests.  All parents of students wishing to apply for a place, at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School, whether they live in Bexley or in a neighbouring local authority, must complete a ‘In-Year Secondary Application Form for Grammar Schools’ available below or ‘Bexley In Year Secondary School Application Form’ from the London Borough of Bexley website .

Important:

If you reside in the Bexley borough and your child is currently not enroled at a school for safeguarding reasons you must also contact the London Borough of Bexley who will coordinate school admissions, for further details please see:

Dates of upcoming tests:

Deadline for applications Test date School test site
28th September 2023 Week commencing 16th October 2023 Beths Grammar School
8th January 2024 23rd January 2024 Townley Grammar School
22nd March 2024 16th April 2024 Bexley Grammar School
24th May 2024 8th July 2024 Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School

If your child is not currently in a Bexley School it is advisable to complete the Bexley ‘In Year’ application form as this will give access to all of the schools in Bexley rather than just the selective Grammar Schools.

If your child has been deemed selective and a place is not currently available, you can ask for them to be placed on a waiting list for the appropriate year group. If a place becomes available, we will contact the person at the top of the list to offer them a place at the school.  Waiting lists will be rolled over for entry to the subsequent year until the close of Year 9.  We regret that the school does not accept admissions to Years 10 and 11 as Keystage 4 GCSE studies are underway.
