Pearson Edexcel A-level Music Technology
This qualification suits students whose musical interests are more focussed towards the digital as the essence of the course is all about using technology musically. Students learn how to use production tools and techniques to capture, edit, process and mix an audio recording; and to create, edit, manipulate and structure sounds to make a technology-based composition. Students develop knowledge and understanding of recording and production techniques and principles for both corrective and creative purposes. The course provides an excellent preparation for those intending to study sound production and related disciplines at tertiary level.

Sixth form involvement in music is strong, including by musicians who join us in year 12 from other schools. In line with the school’s vision of the learners of today becoming the leaders of tomorrow, sixth form students help to coach our ensembles, compose music for our students to perform, and provide excellent role models for our younger musicians.
