Resources for learning

Students are studying Edexcel GCE A-level Politics

They are expected to have their own textbooks. The recommended textbooks are:

• Y12: Essentials of UK Politics (Andrew Heywood)
• Y12 & 13: Political Ideas for A-level - incl. Feminism/Anarchism (Neil McNaughton)
• Y13: Pearson Edexcel A-level - Global Politics (Robert Murphy)

Students are also recommended to:

• Read around the subject by reading a Sunday newspapers, journals and weekly news magazines like ‘The Week’, ‘The Spectator’ or ‘New Statesman’.

• Students should also make use of online resources and visit websites like BBC News, Sky News or The Times – Red Box.

• There are various politics-based podcasts available to keep you informed. BBC World Service, Matt Forde’s Political Party podcast, The New Statesman Podcast, Ways to Change the World Podcast (Channel 4 News).
